Exhibitions give my practice direction. A deadline, a theme or a particular opportunity can be the catalyst that takes an idea from a thought into a finished body of work. I enjoy the discipline of working towards an exhibition — researching, experimenting, pushing an idea further and ultimately resolving the best work I can.
This has allowed me to explore a wide range of subjects, materials and approaches over the years, always with a particular love of colour, texture, pattern and form. I am interested in the way an exhibition can challenge an artist to step outside familiar territory and reinterpret the world through their own visual language.
I have been fortunate to exhibit alongside artists whose work I admire, both in Australia and internationally, and to have work included in exhibitions, touring displays and published collections.
There are, of course, many more exhibitions on my list.
Time is the challenge.
